Renaissance’s inaugural RALI programme a big success

June 2, 2022

Renaissance, Oman's leading accommodation, services and IFM solutions company, marked the successful completion of its Renaissance Accelerated Learning Initiative (RALI) programme for 2021-22. A graduation ceremony for the inaugural batch of trainees was held on May 30 at Crowne Plaza Muscat in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Labour.

RALI is an intensive programme aimed at grooming future leaders and is aligned with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 which emphasises driving positive local impact and creating an indirect value chain by enhancing the skills and employability of young Omanis. The eight-month intensive programme was launched in September 2021 with 11 candidates. Nine completed the programme having received essential skills training along with on-the-job experience through rotational deputation in Renaissance’s various departments and its sites of operation across Oman, including Renaissance Village Duqm (RSVD).

Renaissance partnered with Competence HR, a leading HR and management development consultancy, to invite, screen, select and train candidates for this initiative. The batch was shortlisted from a pool of over 1,000 applicants after a rigorous, multi-layered selection process.

Stephen R Thomas, CEO, Renaissance, said the company is committed to its Omanisation programme. “We aim to attract, maintain and foster the best team in the field and encourage its development. The RALI programme is very much at the heart of that. Attracting more Omanis into our leadership team, and in the case of RALI, attracting more Omanis into our high-potential future leadership and talent management programmes is key to Renaissance 2.0. I wish the graduates every success.’’

Amer Al Fadhil, managing partner, Competence HR said, “It all started last year when we had the honour of being tasked by Renaissance to design the programme. The eight-month programme included modules on topics including management, communication, finance for non-finance, HR for non-HR and many more. It was a mix of classroom and on-the-job training. There is a clear commitment from Renaissance through RALI to employ the best in the market and moving them on through the ranks.”
